it's so depressing that people are so stupid as to have different view points than others. I don't want to live on a planet with people with different opinions than me.

I didnt read the book, I just watched the movie. Honestly, I expected more and have no doubt that book is way better.

I hope we detect a single from a different star system soon. It might happen in this decade but more than likely in the 2020's

This movie should of been in three parts, at least. The book is incredibly amazing.. They did a fairly bad job at fitting it all in. I mean, an ancient, connected, wormhole system?... Cygnus-A being completely artificial?... Finding a message in pi? These things totally made the book, for me. The ending was very satisfactory. The movie's was too gooey.

The only real question that remains is what is their level of complexity? The majority of life in the universe will most likely be unicellular and microscopic prokaryotes. I think, based on chemistry, that they'll be very similar to us chemically as well - when it comes to biochemistry, there are only so many ways to "skin a cat" that are energy efficient. Any thing else will be supplanted thru natural selection IMHO.

Sounds like simple animal fear. Why should you care what davazno1 thinks.......unless you are afraid he's right?
