Paladin12122 is correct. The first attack in the 17 day battle took place at 8am on 8th Dec HK time, which was a mere 6hrs 12mins AFTER the start of the IJN attack on Pearl Harbor. Because of the International Dateline, at the time the first shots were fired in HK at 8am on 8/12/1941, it was 2pm on 7/12/1941 in Hawaii.
Actually..... Hong Kong happened at the same time as Pearl Harbour. Technically. The reason there's a difference on the date is because of the time zones.
