old ceiling fan pull chain switch went from 3 sp down to 1. installed new pull chain...still only get 1sp. can u please help?

@torontothegood all you need is to up in the addic and install a 2x4 above the ceiling box and secure it to the box to the 2x4 and screw or nail the 2x4 to the joists and uala your ceiling wont kill no one !!!

i have a regular metal electrical box on the ceiling but i'm not sure it is fastened strong enough to support a ceiling fan! i mean it just has a little light fixture on it now which is no problem, but if i hang a 30lb fan from it.. won't it crash from the ceiling??? how do i re-inforce the box to be sure it won't kill someone when it falls??

why was the fan on reverse?

They work well with baseboard heat also. It keeps the air circulating.

I love these do it yourself videos that are being put on Youtube! One thing about these celing fans, though. They're being pushed as energy savers in the winter. But even with my 9' ceiling, to me, it just feels like a draft in winter, so I keep them turned off. Might be a good idea if condensation on your windows is a problem in winter.
