Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Sue Mallick with Food City presents a fresh recipe for Chicken Lettuce Wraps at Food City's Cooking School. Ingredients:
3 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp minced garlic
3 tbsp dry roasted peanuts
2 cups cole slaw mix
1 can sliced water chestnuts
2 cups chicken breast strips
lettuce leaves

In a small bowl, combine hoisin sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, red pepper, and garlic. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine peanuts, coleslaw mix, water chestnuts, and chicken - toss well. To serve: spoon about 1/3 cup of chicken mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf. Top with about 2 tsp of sauce.

@snackingonutube That cracked me up as well. Canned chicken is awful but vacuum packed pre-cooked chicken is A-OK. Come on, how trash can you get? It takes no time or effort at all to cook your own fresh chicken, plus you then have bones to make stock from. Plus she can't be bothered to chop her own slaw from fresh produce? Honey please, this "recipe" is on a par with Hamburger Helper. And all served up on a paper place so "we're not stressing!" A big hit in trailer parks everywhere, no doubt.

awful demo, awful recipe...one of the worst I've seen on utube... yeah, she doesn't like chicken out of a can but she'll pop pre-cooked preserved chickken out of a box...oh yuk!!! Plus this appetizer won't wind up in people's mouths... it will fall apart and fall on the floor or the person's shirt! so bad, so bad...awful....
