Still In Love With You: A JoBromance Chapter 2 Part 2

(*Alexis' POV*)

"You like him!! You like him!! Ooooh, you're in LOVE!!!!!!" Hannah chattered and babbled as we drove home about how she would tell all her friends that not only did she meet Joe Jonas and they "fell in love," but her sister's best friend also fell in love with a Jonas brother.
I was tempted to roll my eyes and sigh, but my mind was too fixated on the memory of Nick. His eyes, his smile, the intense energy I felt when he stepped closer to me. I could barely breathe, and my heart still alternated between skipping beats and racing. I prayed to God that Nick would call me. I couldn't bear the thought of never seeing him again. I would die an old maid before I would marry anyone but him, I told myself, not caring that that sounded like a childish, naive thought.
We got home, and Hannah bounded up the garage stairs, through the door, and straight to the phone. There were many very jealous nine-year-old girls after Hannah's phone frenzy, I had no doubt. I dropped my purse and keys on the counter, poured myself some milk, grabbed a couple cookies, and went up to my room. Settling down on my bed, I opened my Macbook and went to Wikipedia. "Nick Jonas," I typed. An adorable picture of him with his guitar and a lengthy article popped up, and I began to read. Oooh, his middle name is Jerry, I thought. That's kinda cute. I read about his birthplace and parents, and...omigosh! He has diabetes?? I had no idea!! Poor Nick! That must be awful! I suddenly understood the emotion behind his performance of 'A Little Bit Longer' in the concert. The next section was 'Personal Life.' Personal life? I thought. He's just 16, and not a player like his brother Joe! What kind of personal life can he have... I froze when I saw the name Miley Cyrus. No. No, it can't be. Not her. Of all people, not her Nick. Please, Nick, no. Not her!! I read very slowly, "Miley Cyrus has stated that she dated Jonas from June 2006 to December 2007. Cyrus claimed they were 'in love' and dated soon after they met."
I felt crushed. Of all the celebrities in the world, Miley was my least favorite. She was a no-talent spoiled brat who claimed to be a "Christian," and then went around wearing revealing clothing and taking naughty pictures that were leaked to the Internet. I had always wondered how, how on EARTH she got to be so popular. She couldn't sing, her acting was a joke, and she was just the most annoying twit around! So into herself, so egotistical. Such a princess. How could Nick have fallen for her???? I suddenly felt very confused. If he had been attracted to a girl like her, was he really the right guy for me? And even if he was just temporarily out of his mind, did Miley still have her hooks in him? Would she come back to steal him if he ever tried to date any other girl? Would she ruin the love I felt for him?? Would--
I was jerked away from my panicked thoughts by my cellphone. I looked at the caller ID, but I didn't recognize it. "Hello?"
"Hi, is Alexis there?" a familiar voice asked. My heart skipped a beat.
"Nick? This is Alexis," I breathed.
"Hi!" he said excitedly, and then stopped to clear his throat.
We were both silent for a few moments, being too shy to say anything, but loving the energy we felt between us.
"So, I'm here for a few days, and I don't know what to do. Will you show me your town tomorrow?"
I felt like I was dreaming. Did Nick Jonas really want to spend a day with me? "Sure," I answered quickly.
"Great!" Nick seemed relieved and happy. "Meet me at the Marriott Hotel lobby tomorrow morning at 9:00. I'll be wearing a disguise, but I'll find you."
I was on a high. Nick Jonas, the most amazing, beautiful boy in the world, wanted to spend a day with me, of all people, and I was meeting him at one of the fanciest hotels! My heart sang, and I beamed.
"Sounds good, Nick. Good night."
"Good night, Alexis," Nick's voice dropped a little deeper, and his words sent shockwaves down my spine. I was in heaven, just listening to him.
We hung up, and I lay down on my bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering what tomorrow would hold. Was the love I felt for him be returned? Was he just using me to get a free tour of the city, or did he actually care about me, personally? A million thoughts rolled around in my brain, and as my eyes started to close, and the darkness of sleep surrounded me, I saw nothing but the face of the best boy in the world.
