  • I suppose there's no onboard effects ?

  • @Theotim92 No onboard effects. You can add feedback to each voice but that's about it. There's certainly nothing outside of the synth engine like you have on a lot of VA's.

  • The sound of the tetra on all your video is very metalic.. in the preset those the synth have smooth warm sound too? like pads & ambiances... thx for the video!

  • @yamanutrition It's not as smooth & warm as a VCO analogue, there's no doubt about that. But I would also say that despite my best efforts the sound quality on YouTube is not helping things. The TETR4 is a very capable synth that's capable of a huge range of sounds & textures. In hindsight I should have also uploaded the audio from these vids (which was recorded directly into my DAW) to SoundCloud to give a better representation.

  • that's some really nice sounds!

i have the p08 myself and sometimes find them lacking in character, but your audio mods are really great!

the pad at 3:20 is also deliciously vintage

great job ... me have to do some tweaking on my p08!!

  • The sound engine in the TETR4 is identical to the P08 as far as I'm aware. So you should be able to get these sounds exactly on the P08. I'm just wondering if TETR4 patches would work on the P08?

  • Dude. Thank you so much for these demos! I'm trying to decide whether I want to buy a Tetra, and after watching your vids, I'm pretty sure it's the right move to make. By the way, is there a list of combos and presets for the Tetra? I would love to know what basses this unit has. Cheers!

  • @Dogboy73

The voice architecture in the Tetra is identical to the P8, with the addition of the sub-oscillators and the feedback parameter so most sounds will translate but not all.

You can indeed load the Tetra sounds onto the P8 (or MoPho) by dumping them from the Tetra in P8-specific format, it's an option in the Global parameters.

  • Exactly! Having the feedback - opens a whole new sound pallete option for you, that the P08 can't do.

  • No, they're not! Don't forget the feedback that is on the Tetra but not on the P08. Also, the combo mode on the Tetra allows you to have 4 sequences simultaniously.

  • I feel like watching some Doctor Who after listening to some of those patches. Thanks!
