Enfants Dits Sorcier - Children Accused of Being a Witch

Internews (http://www.internews.org) has produced two videos to raise awareness of the plight of Congolese children accused of witchcraft. The videos were part of a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development that trained journalists from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to report on peace talks and social issues. The videos were produced by Angela Nicoara and Mike Ormsby.

i believe in religious tolerance, but i cannot tolerate shit like this, this is why alot of christians are so fucking flawed. it removes reason and fills it in with blind faith and superstition which in turn makes good people do ugly horrible things to another. and for what, god? if god does/did exist, he would smite all these sadistic blind bastards off the face of the earth. that being said, the ones who are christian,but follow reason before faith and are open minded to others, they are cool

The fact that much of the problem stems from things outside those communities is lost when this is presented as a local issue. In presenting Africans as violent, ignorant and misinterpreting religious practices, the fact that most Africans are not violent, nor ignorant and have religious practices (Christian or NOT) that do not cause violence to children is lost. Too complex an issue to discuss here...

I'm guessing u hav not read it either. The Bible "You should not let a sorceress live. Exodus 22:", "A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. Leviticus 20:27", "All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9", "If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death.Leviticus 20:10"

As if these people don't have enough to deal with. Now religious hate is making their lives even more miserable. Religion preaches hate & murder of so many. It has several lines that demand murder of children & states clearly to kill witches. Religion should be banned to protect the human race!
