Typical Karl Elsey goal against the scum. Great video, but I have to question us beating Bristol Rovers to seal a play-off place. I seem to remember we needed a win against Bolton & 2 other results to go our way. I used to stand right at the front of the Rainham End (suicidal thinking back to the crowd surging forward when we scored!) and I'm sure I remember Cas scoring at that end in a 1-0 win? Can anyone confirm this?

I skipped off school to go down and buy tickets for the Swindon games. Got detention for it, but I didn't care! lol

We had a great banter with the Geordies at Roker Park. The Gills and Toon army formed a "Geordie Gills" fan section for the match and chanted that! lol

Shame about the Selhurst game, we never got going. I remember the atmosphere outside being very hostile towards the scum.
Oh well, Priestfield was buzzing that season like I've never seen again, just take a look at the town end and rainham end in some of the clips. Two old fashioned wingers, two centre forwards who would die for the ball and the club! Thanks KP, you were are fucking Priestfield legend. I think Dr G(rip) was the only one who didn't want us up!

Cascrino's contribution against Sunderland was amazing, as was the game. Sunderland were good losers. I think that they had never been outside Div 2(old) in their history. Apparantly Newcastle fans were clapping some of the Gills coaches on their way out of the North East decked out in their black and white shirts.

Well done mate, brings back some great memories of following the gills. Elsey's goal at Swindon, what a strike. At the time I assumed that the away goal rule applied to the final only to find out otherwise when we went 2-1 down! Oh well it was one of the first ever play off finals.
