It's a dramatic night in Salem when Brooke Hamilton steals checks from Bob Anderson to pay for her mother Adele's liver operation, Neil catches Bob comforting Neil's pregnant wife Phyllis, and Adele, having fallen off the wagon, makes a scene in Doug's Place. Also featuring the Grant family, one of Days' earliest attempts at introducing racial issues into the narrative.
My Mom started watching this show in 1966, I grew up listening to this theme. It's great seeing the few characters still on today (Deidre Hall, Suzanne Rogers, Bill & Susan).

All you need is a wide awake drunk woman. Is that supposed to be the girl in the black dress' Mother? Now I actually know someone here Neil (First name only sorry) Wasn't Susan Flannery on here too? She's now Stephanie on Bold and Beautiful. My God! She looks old enough to be his mother! HA! HA HA HA HA! No wonder! Bill Bell was one of the writers. The first two music composers were also singers in the 1960s. They were on I Dream Of Jeannie and Bewitched

Thank you very much! Great choice of episode as always. It was so nice to see who was in Salem before the terrible "Valentine's Day Massacre" of 1980. And now I see why my mom was so hooked on this show when I was a child.

@bradyclanfan Yes it was. Maggie became an alcoholic a year or two later.

Is this before Maggie became an alcoholic?

Thank you so much for this. A great episode. I care so much about many of these characters, after only seeing them once. The drama is tastefully and movingly done. It is just pure class through and through.
