    You're welcome. :)

Most gunsmiths can install a beavertail grip safety on your 1911 (frame cutting & fitting). Dito sa Pilipinas, ang daming gunsmith na sanay na sa 1911 dahil puro 1911 sa mga IPSC/PPSA competitions.

It cost me PhP ~1,500 for the beavertail grip safety (stainless) and PhP ~500 for the Commander/combat hammer (standard/GI hammer will not work with beavertail grip safety). Gunsmithing done at CPPSA Gun Club, BF Homes, Parañaque City, Philippines. Around Php ~500-1,000.

  • sir. parehas tayo ng problema, masakit nga sa kamay. im very thankful to your video, sr magkano nman ang nagastos mo dyan at kung pwedi paki send nman ang kanyang tel. no. and the loc. para mapagawa ko nman ang akin. salamat po

Yup, you're right. :) I meant it has an Ed Brown cut. My beavertail grip safety's brand isn't Ed Brown.

I believe there are 2 popular beavertail grip safety cuts. The Ed Brown and Wilson cuts. I believe both require frame cutting when going from a standard grip safety to a beavertail.

  • Great vid, I dont think the grip safety is an ed brown but it does have the same cut radius as an ed brown .250 cut, it looks like SA's beavertail.

You're welcome. Thanks for the support! :)

  • Very informative video. I have a Springfield Loaded 1911 I bought used. I had wondered why it had the beaver tail, I thought it was for people who have chubby

hands (you don't) or shoot competition. Thanks for the info.
