I came across this sermon by Pastor Paul Washer I edited it and added a little music to it. It's only a 10 MINUTE video, but, it could be the greatest 10 minutes of your life! I hope you all enjoy it and may God Bless "You".

Sometimes when we just sit in the quietness of prayer God shows us some amazing things. Today was just that kind of day for me. I set aside my ministerial studies for today to just "BE" in quietness with the the Holy Spirit. Thinking about the wonders of what God did for someone, who is just a nobody, a sinner like Me, or "Anyone". Do we really KNOW what He REALLY did for You and Me. The Cross, Our Salvation, and His Grace.

What happened on that cross atop Mount Calvary about 30 AD. During those three hours from noon to 3 pm, while darkness shrouded the whole earth, the sinless Lamb of God bore the crushing weight of the sins of the world.
[Psa 85:10] "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other". It was the transaction of the ages, ordained from eternity past. The Lord Jesus Christ was the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

Imagine the interest of the angelic hosts as they gazed upon the scene! Holy messengers of God on one side of the conflict, and fallen angels on the other. I wonder when the powers of darkness first realized the mistake they had made.
[I Cor 2:8] says that if any of the "princes of this world" had known the consequences, they would not have slain the Lord of Glory. Because that transaction sealed their doom, as it provided redemption for mankind.
[Col 2:14-15] "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it [the cross]."

It was not just His crucifixion that made the cross the triumph that it was, however, but also the Resurrection from the grave that followed. That was the proof of God's satisfaction with the sacrifice, the provision of a living Savior, and the basis of the Christian's hope.

[Isaiah 53:10]
"Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand."

God Bless You.

  • That's an interesting take, but it seems to me, that Jesus was also Human - he did not wish to endure suffering, but he could not stop preaching hope and forgiveness and salvation to people. And he needed the strength to continue to do this in the face of death, because although we are plagued with issues and problems, there is something good in us worth reaching, worth helping, worth fighting for in the face of death. Its this devotion that saves us, not scapegoating, not wrath, but Love.
