  • i dont understand

    what flaps use for?

  • In the case of flying slow enough to be filmed by a helicopter, in addition to have a lower stall speed, it is necessary to have the flaps extended to maintain a nose-low attitude so the pilot can more easily see and avoid other aircraft traffic.

  • Pete,

Looking good. We have got to go flying sometime. Randy Snarr N694RS

  • Hey Randy! Good to hear from you! Coming up on Annual #12 with 1,400 hours on "P-Aire" to date. Let's do a fly-in sometime.

  • Ya. It was summer and quite hot. Don't get much air movement when under 100 KIAS. Had to fly slow to stay with the helicopter that was shooting the footage.

  • The video was taken from a helicopter belonging to a local TV channel. We were never closer than 100 yards.
