The most horrible train in the world - II

Italy's SSIF (Subalpine Railway Company) newly operates this so called panoramic train "Vigezzo Vision" (Locarno-Domodossola, crossing the Swiss-Italian border).
Riding on this engineeristic failure will cost you an additional £1,20 (only in Italy, as such surcharge collections are not allowed on railways which do participate in the Swiss Public Transport system).

The "train" is passing through Locarno S. Antonio underground station. September 12th, 2008.

La questione non è il prezzo in sé, che sulla SSIF è anche basso confronto alle FART. Ciò che non mi va giù è che si imponga un supplemento senza possibilità di scelta (oltre che senza miglioramenti né in termini di tempo di percorrenza (anzi!), né in termini di comfort). Agganciassero una carrozza normale ai "panoramici", il problema sarebbe risolto: contenti i turisti e contenti gli altri utenti (che il pur bel panorama lo conoscono a memoria).

Very ugly looking train...........

It's very uncomfortable too. Did this journey a few years back and its much less comfortable than the older units. My partner decided to stand rather than sit in the dreadful seats.

Who pissed in your pint? Take a ride on the train - lovely scenery as it passes mountains, lakes, villages, all at a bargain price. Or is your complaint that is goes through (without stopping) an uninteresting underground station? Utilitarian, sure, but in what way is it an "engineerisitic" failure? It's not as if it's collapsed or something...

Train is horrible, but it drives only the last bit through a tunnel, de track itself is laid through valleys, that's why its called centovalli
