I actually have a canvas of Chow Yun-Fat lighting a cigarette with a $100 bill. What a cool actor

I find it funny that the chinese characters 豪 and 傑 means hero. The characters in the movie 豪(hao) and 傑 (kiet) both walking different paths and their different ideals of what "justice" is.

This movie was ok. Great acting and a lot of drama. There weren't that many action scenes, but when there was action, it was awesome. I like "A Better Tomorrow 2" much more. Has a lot more action and it's just plain Fuckin Bad-Ass!!

how much of ho's work did kit know of before their dad's murder? he must've been aware he was some kind of gangster already...

I wish Woo and Fat would reunite to create classics like these...
I personally like The Killer and Hard-Boiled far more, but this film has much deeper themes and more realistic relationships. It is less of a video game. The resolution of its conflicts is not articulated through balletic action, but through the renewal of family ties and brotherhood.

Arguably, the best HK film during the last 40 years. According to the HK Film Awards, it is #2 on the list of the Greatest HK and Chinese movies.
