In 2005 a group of Salish Language Educators from the Flathead Indian Reservation traveled to New Zealand to learn about Maori Language revitalization efforts. This movie is a glimpse into what was shared with them.
It isn't a surprise to me that the countries that were "claimed" by European occupants have been suppressed and we forced to assimilate to foreign customs. I am proud of all people who reclaim and keep alive their own history and culture. I am proud of our Salish People who fight to keep the Language alive! thank you and I dream of the day that I learn to speak my fluent tongue as well. Lemlemts! (p.s I love the movie "Once were Warriors")
