From soprano Iria Perestrelo's 'Musicatos' recital at Paços da Cultura' accompanied by Natasha Pikoul.
S.João da Madeira, March, 2008.

Iria Perestrelo studied with Mafalda Leite at the Academia de Música de S.João da Madeira, and later with Cecilia Fontes (Porto Music Conservatory). She now studies at Guildhall School of Music, London UK.

'Music, music for a while,
Shall all your cares beguile:
Wond'ring how your pains were eas'd,
And disdaining to be pleas'd.
'Til Alecto free the dead
From their eternal bands,
'Til the snakes drop from her head,
And the whip from out her hands.
Music, music for a while,
Shall all your cares beguile'

  • IceMasterEasthamJazz said... Funny thing about diction. Most English speakers have a fairly easy time pronouncing other languages accurately, regardless of their knowledge of the language itself. For speakers of other languages to pronounce English, on the other hand, usually isn't as easy.

  • she's got a great voice and she only sings "shill all" because that is the kind of pronunciation you use for this kind of singing

  • I like baroque music with grand piano :-(

  • Beautiful voice!

  • @richtomes English is a hard language to sing. For the most part it doesn't make sense tonally.

  • Qué belleza!!! Voz, rostro y figura. Gracias por este video. Saludos.

  • Suddenly a women in the background :D
