  • I notices on your old video it smoked as soon as you started it. My merkur xr4ti is doing this same thing. Now do you know if this is a Head gasket problem or rings?

  • @dylancolo I attribute the smoke to worn out valve seals. On start up it's let out a cloud every time since the engine swap. Water level is consistent, the plugs don't foul or look contaminated, etc. It consumes a little oil, but it's also got a few oil leaks still. Obviously, it runs fine so I'm not going to mess with it until I have to. I won't know for sure until I tear into the engine for much needed maintenance, but that probably won't be until next year.

  • Hey I have an 86 2.3 and I'm thinking about doing duals. Around how much did it cost you to get yours done?

  • If I'd bought the parts new from the manufacturers I'd have over $800 invested. I saved a bunch buying barely used, and hustling for deals.

  • what series flows?

  • 50 series if I remember correctly.

  • i wanna do that same thing to ming and i was wondering wat u did to make it sound like that

  • what kind of exhaust system is that

  • youtube cut me off. anyways, it said the swap, so i'm assuming you've gone through what i'm fixing to go through. if you have any advice, tricks etc, would you mind sending me a message? i know yours is an 86, so there may not have been as many compatibility problems as mine will have, but still

  • man you just made my day with this video! i've looked and looked and LOOKED for a good sounding exhaust for my car. its a 93 that i'm doing a 2.3T swap on. anyways, every vid had cars that sounded good if ur into ricers, and most just sounded like a bumble bee in a tin can, but urs is EXACTLY what i've been looking for. it rumbles like a v8 at idle at least, would like a little more rumble as it revs up, but hey, this is close! also in your comment above it said something about "the swap"

  • sounds fuckin great!!!! just like my svo
