Summer’s POV. “Oh nothing…” Brooke laughs innocently. The two of us burst out laughing all over again and everyone looks at us like we’re mentally disturbed. Which, once again, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were… “I’ll get our ‘necessities’ out of the car…” I giggle and walk around to the back of my car. “Brooke, when I said I, I meant we!” I yell at her. Brooke laughs and walks over to me. “We can both take two…” she suggests and I nod. We each take two bags of groceries and walk around the back of the car. Kevin is facing us and bursts out laughing as soon as we’re visible. I frown. “What?” I ask. “Did you think we wouldn’t be feeding you?” he chuckles. “Of course not! We just wanted some snacks for on the way…” Brooke tells him. “We have snacks girls…” Joe laughs. “We went to get cereal. And came back with a little more…” I admit. “Yeah, those aren’t necessities. Those are too-much-ities…” Nick jokes. I roll my eyes. “Stop making lame jokes and help me,” I whine. Nick quickly scurries over to me and takes one of the bags. “I wasn’t really talking to you Nick, but okay…” I laugh and put my grocery bag next to my three suitcases. “We’ll be right back!” Brooke says with a polite smile and she drags me into the house. “What’s up?” I ask her as I gather some last minute stuff from around the kitchen. “You just told Nick Jonas to stop making lame jokes… Do you even realize that?” she hisses. I grin. “Yes. I know… And yes, I’m aware of how awesome that is…” I giggle. Brooke plops down on a stool next to the cooking island. “So, we should probably be heading out now…” I suggest. Brooke nods and stands back up. “Need me to carry anything?” she offers. I shake my head. “Nah, I got it. It’s just my laptop and three boxes of Fruit Loops…” I tell her and gather everything in my arms. Soon we’re outside and we see all the adults bonding. Yay! “You ready to go girls?” Mr. Jonas asks Brooke and me when we exit the house. “Yeah, just about…” Brooke and I answer. “Whoa Summer! Where do you plan on putting all this food?” Nick asks as he picks up two of the heavy bags. “In my body. And in Brooke’s…” I probably shouldn’t tell them it’s off limits to them. How rude would that be? Nick chuckles and shakes his head. I see that our duffle bags have been put in the bus and Frankie has gone inside. I look at my dad. I walk over to him and give him a big hug. I kiss his cheek and he holds me tight. “I love you daddy…” I whisper in his ear. “I love you too honey… Remember everything we talked about,” he tells me firmly after that. I nod. “Call, souvenir, own bed, the thing… Am I missing anything?” I ask him after summing it all up. “Nope, I think that’s all… Now go have the summer of your life,” Dad tells me after I hug him one last time. I smile and hitch my large tote up on my shoulder. “Bye!” I call out behind me and I wave to Brooke’s parents. Brooke is already on the bus, waving at her parents behind the window. I blow my dad a kiss and step onto the bus. I’m going to miss him so much… Tears start to form in my eyes and I don’t blink them away. They’re not the kind of tears that will run down your cheek. I look around the bus quietly while Mr. and Mrs. Jonas are talking to Brooke’s parents and my dad. Probably doing all the technical stuff… I sigh and look around the bus again. Pretty awesome bus! I stroll down the aisle a little and then plop down on one of the couch type things. I turn my torso around so I can look out the window. I was wrong about the tear-run-over-cheek thing. I quickly wipe it away and that’s when I feel two arms snake around my waist and someone sit next to me on the couch. “You okay?” Nick asks me. I smile and look at him with blurred vision. “I’ll be fine… Just going to miss my dad that’s all…” I tell him. Nick smiles and leans in to kiss me. Suddenly the bus starts driving and I snap away. I look out the window and wave to my dad.
