Former University of Hawaii football standouts David Veikune, Ryan Mouton, and Jake Ingram. Former USC football standout Kaluka Maiava, and Former Organ State standout Al Afalava

Veikune was drafted in the second round by the Cleveland Browns as the 52nd overall pick. After having impressive work outs, Veikune was ranked as the 10th best defensive end by ESPN.com. Veikune played three seasons at UH, appearing in 41 games and recording 18 sacks and 28 tackles for a loss. Last season, he led the Warriors with nine sacks and 16.5 tackles for a loss and also forced four fumbles and finished with 73 tackles.


Mouton was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the 30th pick of the third round and 94th selection overall. The versatile Mouton, who played cornerback, safety, slotback and kickoff returner last season, becomes the schools highest drafted defensive back since Jeris White was taken in the second round in 1974.Despite not selected to participate in the Senior Bowl or the NFL Combine, Mouton impressed the scouts at the East-West Shrine Game and at UHs Pro Day.

A first team all-WAC pick last season, Mouton finished with 43 tackles and eight pass breakups. During his two-year career, he had three interceptions and three touchdowns two on kickoff returns and one off an interception.

Ingram was taken by the New England Patriots with the 25th pick of the sixth round and 198th overall. Considered the drafts top long snapper, Ingram showcased his skills at both the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine, where his elevated his status.

Ingram was a three-year starter at long snapper and did not have a bad snap. He is the first long snapper drafted in school history.

The Browns opened Day Two of the NFL Draft by selecting USC linebacker Kaluka Maiava in the fourth round, 104 overall.

A native of Hawaii, Maiava started last year and earned second-team All-Pac 10 honors by making 66 tackles. He also has extensive experience on special teams.

He played every linebacker position in his time at USC and shined away from the spotlight his more highly-regarded teammates enjoyed.

Afalava's reputation as a hammer in the secondary earned him honorable mention All-Pac-10 each of the past two years. Afalava's linebacker size and mentality makes him a perfect in-the-box safety and special teams contributor at the next level.
