    the piece is written for xylophone. It's also in the title of the piece.

    And if you want to know the truth, the marimba is actually in the xylophone category.

    Xylo means "wood" in Greek -- all instruments with wood bars are technically xylophones, including marimbas, balafons, concert xylophones, etc.
