Manuela Nivia, a sophomore at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School, was presented the Envision "2010 Award of Excellence in Volunteerism" at the Envision Employee Banquet on August 5. The Banquet, an annual event, serves to recognize Envision employees, vendors, volunteers and community partners.

Manuela was recognized for her outstanding work to further the vision and mission of Envision by providing programs and services to persons who are blind or visually impaired. She initially came involved with Envision through the Eyes 4 Others program. She is also a regular mentor in the Envision Kids Club, participating in the art program, homework club and the Assistive Technology camp.

Envision President and CEO Linda Merrill-Parman presented Manuela with a plaque and a check for $500 in recognition of her generous involvement. She is the youngest person to ever receive this award.
