Antoinette was probably one of the best female rappers to come out in the late 80's. She was labelmates with Salt-N- Pepa who all hailed from Queens, NY. Shake, Rattle & Roll was the 2nd single from her 1989 album Who's The Boss.

  • They all came from Hurby's beats and rhymes

  • i wonder what shes doing these days? lady b has alot of shows, why not get her to restart her career?

  • kane wrote alot of her stuff, if you have heralbums or tape..look at the credits..it says "written by antonio hardy"

  • @CunnilyngusDelight Come on man! Please go sit in a dark room with whatever relaxes you and listen to MC Lyte's first two albums & get back to me on that. I like Antoinette she's hip-hop (golden era) but it's male MCs that couldn't flow with MC Lyte! 10% dis put Antoinette out of the game!

  • Antoinette is sexy

  • Antoinette was one of the best and definitely one of the most underrated female rappers of that era. I personally preferred her over Lyte, but that's just my opinion, which we're all entitled to.

  • she's ok in her own way but I thought her rhyming was weaker than MC Lyte's.

Where is this chick these days? She quit rapping after MC Lyte shut her down didn't she

  • @MsKwan09 don't be so cynical her voice, flow and delivery is way beyond her time truly one of the best female artist of all time, unless you know for a fact that so one else wrote her rhymes don't speak on it you never know the creative process in the studio. It's truly impossible for her to sound so amazing if she couldn't rhyme for herself, just think about that for a second please

  • Wasn't one of her producers or dj's the writers of her rhymes.. well that automatically excludes from being a female emcee

  • MC LYTE WAS GOOD AT BEING FAMOUS, but Antoinette's songs had better pure rap performances hands down. I personally liked the vibe of Antoinette's videos more than the vibe of anything MC Lyte ever did. MC Lyte was overrated.
