The lighthouse and pierhead are adorned with a fantastic lighted catwalk that reaches out into the beautiful blue waters of Lake Michigan. Connected to the pier is a 2.5 mile boardwalk that stretches along the Grand River bringing travelers from the historic downtown shopping district to the golden sand beaches. Stroll along the waters edge and experience all the wonders of this beautiful beachtown: swimming, sand castles, salmon fishing, beach movies, skim boarding, kite boarding and surfing.

Some enjoy active vacationing with others visit to get away from it all and relax with their favorite book, soak up the warmth of the summer sun and enjoy the sounds of the soft waves. Dont forget to make time to stroll the beach at dusk-amidst the splendor of the one the legendary Grand Haven Sunsets. Making memories and sharing experiences with your family and friends is what makes your vacation special.

Enjoy this all american beachtown!

  • i love it here ive lived here all my life

  • i love the fact that lake michigan looks like it goes on forever, like the ocean

  • @get2jodi Our family might take a vacation there. Could you tell me about it, and the best places to go? That would be great!

  • I love it because those that love it live here! Those that don't...don't:)

  • i went to Michigan for 3 weeks vacation and now im back home in england :( damn i miss that place, the beach at grand haven is beautiful....

  • I grew up in Grand Haven. I have to admit sometimes I miss it terribly, but it's nice to come for a virtual visit every once in awhile.

  • I like Grand Haven but the diversity is an issue to me.

96% Caucasian. I don't have a problem with white people as I am half white myself, however it's just boring seeing only one race of people most of the time.

  • I was born in Detroit and raised in Grand Haven, attended Rosy Mound Elementary. And man, do I prefer Grand Haven -- and man, are those some great memories.

  • Great city and area! Lake Michigan Beachs are great! Nice video!

  • Great video, it brings back so many memories of growing up there as a child. I jumped from the pier, rode the trolley, got ice cream at chinook peir, and helped to build the Imagination Station! Funny thing is, it looks like nothing has changed! It is still good ole GH. Gotta love Grand Haven :)
