While it's safe to say Matt would often be lost in New York without his trusty smart phone, keeping the device alive amid a constant flow of data takes a toll on its battery. Hoping to fix that, It's Unboxed acquired a Lenmar PowerPoert Mini external battery from Woot.com for the more than reasonable price of $5.00.
Though the diminutive device promises up to two full charges for each full charge of its own, we found realistically it boosts battery life of an HTC Hero Android phone for somewhere between two to four hours, or about one-half to three-quarters of a full charge. It's enough to help a smart phone survive a day of medium to heavy use, but certainly not the equivalent of two full charges. Still, we can't complain since, in a pinch, this little charger will give you the battery life you need to make that one extra important phone call, text message or email. It also has an adapter for iPods and iPhones with Apple's proprietary dock connector.
And even though the only color Woot.com had remaining was pink, it's small enough that it doesn't really matter.
Here's a look at what we got.
