  • I wouldn't consider myself having reload trouble.. I can reload fine.. it's just remembering when to do it. I have over 100 subgun videos online which document the progression of the sport and my progress over the years.

Search for miniuzi on google video and also on live video dot com. Live video has the most recent subgun matches on it.

  • I would imagine IPSC "cross-training" comes in handy. You're not the only one I've seen having reload trouble. Just cruise youtube for a half hour and watch the SMG vids; lots of guys don't seem to know they can move and use their hands at the same time. :-)

  • In this particular run I did not do any tactical reloads and it did cost me time. In several of the other runs though you will see much better magazine handling. A lot of IPSC guys are now coming over to the subgun events and doing quite well at it. The lessons learned in IPSC/ USPSA , IDPA and other disciplines all carry over.

  • good observation. In this particular course of fire you had to use the magazine picked out of the second shooting position (small box attached to prop) and fire at least one shot through that window using that magazine. I got a bit flustered on this stage with this gun (a loaner mp5 a friend was nice enough to let me use)

  • I've noticed a lack of tactical reloads in many SMG practical courses. I often see guys get to the next shooting station only to fire 2-3rds there and then have to reload. In IPSC pistol we learn to reload on the move, so that when you get to the next station you can drop all the targets without stopping for a new mag. Is this something that just isn't done in SMG shoots? Because it seems that some of these fellas could greatly improve their times if they were reloading between stations.
