Induction Heating is used for a wide range of shrink fitting applications. Shrink fitting is the heating of a tight tolerance body in order to expand it for fitting or mating with another component. Once expanded and the mating component is fit with the body, the heat is removed allowing the body to shrink back, locking the mating part in place. In this video we are fitting an Aluminum Impeller with an Aluminum shaft in 15 seconds with a 3kW power supply.
