My friend Jim and I have been installing Landscaping timbers around my house. It's been extremely hot & sweaty work, but it is starting to take shape nicely. We have the front part pretty much finished but still have to decide if we will deck the steps or fill them with creek gravel like we are putting in the timber bed itself.

  • Did you use rebar to attach the timber to each other and into the ground?

I have installed steps with treated 4x4s for my hillside terraces but not as elaborated as this job.

    Nice!

  • @ElCid48 Hi friend :)

thanks for the kind comments. Yes we did "pin" them with rebar but I was not satisfied with how well they support the timbers, still kind of shaky. I think they mainly just keep the timbers from going (creeping) somewhere else lol :) if u know what I mean. they dont seem to add any structural stability. I am about to upload another video showing the current progress. we are not complete with this around the house yet, but soon. a few details left..

  • @ElCid48 heres part 2 of the timber video

  • Ha Ha, thanks. Okay we will subscribe to each other. I'll go first, Mike

  • @12345mike6789 ok I will put that up sometime soon. subscribe to my videos and you'll know when it goes up. and I would be very interested in seeing your "potting-bar" :) most definitely sell some, thats the way millionaires are made. when you get successful, remember me, I can print your t-shirts :D

  • @me373

An update or a finished product video would be cool sometime. I can only imagine how great it will be with all the rocks inside.

The reason I was looking at the garden timbers was because I have a crazy idea that maybe I could make some outdoor garden furniture. I just finished building a very fancy potting table or a wet bar, depends how you want to look at it but I used the same garden timber pieces. Im thinking about making more and selling them. Ill make a new youtube video soon

  • @12345mike6789 thanks for the kind comment. have since finished installing timbers & finished decking the steps. it took a long time because my friend that helped me has so many irons in the fire u would not believe it. I only acted as "manual labor" on this project...he was the brains. If i had done this myself I would have been ashamed to show the result LOL :D

if u like let me know & I will do a walk around again showing the "finished" project. still have to fill it with rocks tho.

  • @Gregmills007 I don't mind your classified ad in my comment section, we all got to make a living. However I would appreciate if you would include my screenprinting "ad" on one of your videos...I print shirts :) thanks.
