In this clip Dr. Shawn Allen talks about the critical importance of adequate ankle rocker (ankle dorsiflexion during gait). Without adequate range, the client will deploy one (or more) of these strategies to ambulate over the deficient ankle range of motion. These compensations all have consequences. For more detailed information and DVDs and exercise programs to address these problems, goto www.homunculusgroup.com or www.thegaitguys.com. Email is for dvd sales.

  • How can you tell whether it is external rotation of the foot or a tibial torsion? Dr. Ivo saw a video of my running a couple months ago and said I had tibial torsion, but I feel resistance in the ankle as I try to move over the foot which seems to externally rotate my foot as in this video and knock my knee in.

  • Awesome video, very informative.
