Asterisk Part 1 - Installing Asterisk

In the first video of this 10 part series on Asterisk, I explain how to install Asterisk. Asterisk is an open source VOIP communications platform, considered a complete software based IP PBX. And it's free! Due to Youtube's small video size, some of command line stuff is hard to see. You can view a 640X480 video on my website: www.HotButteredIT.com. hi, i was trying to follow you, but i just can't, i'm using ubuntu linux 11.04 and i installed asterisk using the software installer that is built in... and I have trouble because most of the commands, i was prompted not authorized... what is the operating system you recommend?

Are you doing all of this from a terminal at an asterisk live cd?
