This video addresses some of the issues facing horses that are slaughtered in Canada and whose meat is sold overseas primarily in Europe and Japan.
This is the first in a series of videos on slaughter and why there are horses that end up in the slaughter process

  • This is getting old.

    Looky here! 'Recommended Code of Practice for

    the Care and Handling of Horses' Is it? No it can't be! A handbook on how to handle horses. It includes how to slaughter them properly? No way!

    And what's this? A man was charged for inhumae transporation of horses? Dear lord that can't be truth. The CFIA doesn't do anything to help horses!

    Do research and don't blindly follow what the CHDC states. Most information and pics they get are from the States. We're in CANADA!

  • @Alenuschka1983 well actually they are both prey animals. So truthfully there is no difference.

  • THAT horses are ordinarily kept and treated as sport and companion animals;

    THAT horses are not raised primarily as food-producing animals;

    THAT horses are commonly administered drugs that are strictly prohibited from being used at any time in all other food-producing animals destined for the human food supply; and

    WHEREAS Canadian horsemeat products that are currently being sold for human Support New Bill C-322 to BAN Cruel Horse Slaughter in Canada. Join us, the teams on FB & CHDC. Tks!

  • @MistrusEvi , Oh, please, that old blindly trusting the governments' word, again. In Canada, you can keep ANY animal, in a cage, for it's whole life. Standards of Care? VOLUNTARY. Don't want to fed your animal? A fine, if the judge stays awake long enough. Please don't tell me how humane Canada is. It isn't. Canada likes to THINK so, but really? Notsomuch. We like to make a buck too, and we LOVE to spend money on paper. That no-one reads.Real world is where it's at, Mistrus Evi. Try it sometime.

  • @TreasureOne My best friend's father moved here from the Philippines. It took him three weeks to get over here. For his family on the other hand it took months. Big difference there. Not all people who work at shitty jobs like a slaughter house are felons. And it is incredibly ignorant to think so. I bet that if you had to chose between loosing your home and starving, or working in a horse slaughter plant. You would make the decision to work if there were no other jobs available.

  • @TreasureOne different then a slaughter plant. Bang, the cow is down. It is dead. They open the gate to hoist it up, the animal starts kicking and thrashing around. It looks alive! But it ISN'T. The cow is dead, it's muscles spasm after death causing it to look still alive and suffering. This is how I learned about this. The horses aren't butchered alive, they are dead and their muscles spasm after death. Videos captured of it makes them out to be 'Alive'. And immigrants applying for months?

  • @TreasureOne Your ignorance, once again, astounds me. Just because I am saying that respectable people work in slaughter houses makes you assume I am a felon or should be one just shows how ignorant you truly are. Horses aren't butchered ALIVE. In Canada, the hoisting of a conscious horse is ILLEGAL. Which means you CAN'T do it. No ifs, ands, or buts. What part of this is not understood? All animals when shot in the head and killed will move after wards.I've been to a butcher shop. It isn't much

  • @TreasureOne Valley plant was closed due to 25 million dollars of debt and Bouvry is temporarily closed because they are making their plants horse safe. I was responding to the

    Video posted here, not the other videos. Her information is incorrect. She's getting both images and information from the states and applying it to Canada. That's a big problem as the plants in Canada are different from those in the states. One country doesn't set the standard of all countries.

  • @TreasureOne I apologize, my friend left her youtube account open and I replied from her's I deleted the comments and will post from my proper account as to not confuse you.

    Yes but where are the auction pictures form Canada? I see none here. Where are the pictures of inhumane transport vehicles from Canada? There are none here. I wasn't talking about their videos and as I recall reading some where the one from Viande Richelieu in Quebec contained false images and was partly false. The Nature
