Just a quick video demonstrating the problem I've got when entering sleep mode. It doesn't always occur but occasionally when it does occur, it gets annoying and I get frustrated ! : P

What happens is, when I press the sleep button in Win 7, my laptop will seem to be entering sleep mode, the screen will fade to black and then nothing happens, the power lights stay on but the system won't enter sleep mode. The only way to get out of it, is to hard reboot by holding the power button down for a few seconds.

My specs are :

My system specs :

eMachines E625 Laptop Computer
Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
AMD Athlon Processor TF-20 1600 MHz
4GB of DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon X1200

It seems to occur regardless of whether it's on battery on plugged in. Perhaps it's a video card driver issue ? I dunno ?

However any help would be greatly appreciated.

IF you need any more info let me know.

Thanks

Zabitken

  • Yea I switched mouses lol I was using a Logitech Cordless mouse then I switched to the Microsoft SideWinder X3 corded mouse and never had that problem since. That was like 3 months ago

  • is the laptop... it happens to me occasionally ... so ... try to check the sleep mode settings in the control pannel

  • @MasterBlack18 I've checked in the settings, I've got Hibernate disabled and I've got automatic sleep disabled. This seems to occur when I manually want to enter sleep mode.

I wonder If there's a log where you check ? something like event viewer for sleep ?
