  • The steps are similar but not identical between the models.

  • You failed to mention the two, Philips screws on the front fan assembly, it even shows on your video where the upper screw normally is. The second one is a complete pain to get at unless you remove the CPU heat sink but that's a pain unless you get to the screws holding it down on the left side. Grrrrr

  • he didn't take the two screws out of the front fan case because they weren't in his. they are in all mac pros. make sure to take the two screws out or it will break. i almost did

  • So, the critical step you seem to have omitted is how to remove the heatsink cover :( Any reader out there have any suggestions?

  • Are the handles on the bottom and top solid or can they be taken apart?

  • @hybryd83 On new Mac Pro's the CPU's and RAM are on a daughterboard that slides out by pulling on two levers. Much easier than this older model.

  • are these steps indentical from 2006 until most recent revisions?
