  • can you use a pound "tube" of hot pork sausage?

  • @lcw172 I think you could. The big problem with using sausage is the fat content. You would have to rinse the sausage really well to get it off. Fat doesn't dehydrate well. it also reduces the shelf life of the meal considerably.

  • What do you think about slow cooked bbq shredded chicken for wraps? I looked around but didn't see any recipes for such. I make Chicken in slow cooker(16oz bbq sauce 1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar and a little vinegar) for four-six hours. Do you think this would workout?

  • @mugelerm I think it would work out just fine. You will want to dehydrate at a lower temp (145ish). This will help the sugar in the BBQ sauce to dehydrate slower. That will help it to rehydrate better when your ready to eat.

  • War cester shire sauce!!!!! ;) I'm 2 hours from there and we call Wuster Shur sauce. Lol

  • That looks great! I am certain to make up a big pot of this before my next big trip out in April! Thanks BF5!

  • Wow! I have to try this.... Thx

  • As always, great vid MrB! It's good to see backpacker recipes done by someone who really likes to enjoy trail food and not just save weight/space.

I've never heard of BBQ spaghetti before (I'm a little farther north LOL) but now seeing the recipe I want to try this.

  • I just made this dish. The dehydrator just started. I had some of the leftovers. It is one of the most interesting dish I've yet to have. I can not wait to have it again on the trail. Next time I will not use the spicy BBQ sauce and use the extra spicy seasoning too.

  • The whole time i was watching this vid i was thinking of EpicMealTime.

  • and im sure its not 50% sodium (Like mountain house)

    Mmmm now im hungry.
