@jasmyn62 You -asserted-, not asked, that Gloria wasn't even written in 1981. That turns out to not have been the case. As for the month the album was released, I'll give you a hint: it's the obvious one.
But hey, that's quibbling. What's awesome is that you saw U2 in 1981!

@screwyou No, I'm not sure. That's why I said "are you sure?".I was basing it on the way they looked and when I saw bono that same time frame his hair was shorter as was Adams. I was wrong about the year Gloria was released but when I saw them in mid 1981 they weren't performing any October material because the lyrics for the album were stolen in Portland. Many stories have come from that whole situation so who knows?

I saw U2 open for J Geils in 1981. It was amazing the audience was dumbfounded. People were'nt cheering at first because we were all standing there with our jaws dropped. People were standing around saying "this is the best band we've ever seen". I almost did'nt even go in for the opening act because I thought "U2" was some kind of code on my ticket. One of the coolest concerts ever.
