In this video series I will chronologically explore all games released by the independent japanese developer known as "Ikiki". The games range from more and less elaborate action games to highly obscure minigames, all varying in scope and quality. Though, they usually have two things in common: They are entertaining and creative, and some are true gems of indie games.
Blockman is the very fun and polished sequel to Toranpon (See Part 10), released on June 3, 2006. Again you have to jump on trampolines to smash all blocks in each level, though this time around there are many more obstacles and even enemies in your way. To accommodate this, you can pick up blocks and use them as weapons by throwing them. This adds another layer of complexity to the already imprecise controls. Thankfully, you can die twice in each level before losing an actual life. Additionally, there is a two player mode which probably gets very chaotic.
Blockman is a very creative game and executed nicely, but how much fun you will have playing through it mainly depends on how well you get accustomed to the somewhat frustrating controls.
