Imagine having to run a marathon after cycling for 112 miles and enduring a 3 mile swim in tropical conditions while competing against some of the world's top athletes.

Dr Grant Abt shows the temperature of the environment chamber as Ironman athlete Ryan Hepworth is put through his pacesThe University of Hull is helping one its graduates to complete that precise challenge, using high-tech sports science equipment. Ryan Hepworth will travel to Hawaii later this month to compete in the Ironman World Championships but as part of his preparations he is working with staff from the Department of Sport, Health and Exercise Science.
