This video demonstrates the correct and official method for preparing a Reuben sandwich at Gandolfo's New York Deli. I can attest that the sandwich prepared during the filming of this instructional video was indeed delicious.

  • Wow!! I never knew that water could turn to steam then hover over the cheese to melt it like magic without a cover to trap it before going up in the air.

  • @larsbullock Yep, pretty cool stuff!

  • Can you tell me what type of sauce do you put on the bread?

  • @mark9111111 It's Russian Dressing. Kind of like Thousand Island only a little more tangy and no pickle chunks. Some people use Thousand Island on the Reuben - but we prefer the Russian.

  • @gandolfosboise I'm pretty sure Russian and Thousand are the same thing.

  • @DefyingGravity767 It's a common misunderstanding. I'm sure a quick google search will show you the depth of the conversation. The internet FTW!

  • This is how you make a Rueben. Though, I prefer the sauce on the side.

  • love the cheese trick

  • @gandolfosboise

    sarcasm is not your friend.

  • Im sorry i missed the part in the video where he gave their number for deliverys.

  • Thank you for the tutorial, I am so making some tonight for myself and my girlfriend. The marble rye in this instance makes the sandwich oh-so-delectable-looking, but instead I bought a Hungarian Rye from a local baker to use, instead. Hope it turns out!

  • *sigh*.. It's not rust on the grill morons. It's carbon built up over time, it's completely sterile if cleaned, but it will NEVER come off completely..all good grills develop that color.
