Summary of video review:
Good aspects:
1) Character design
2) Compatibility with other sci-fi settings
3) Simple core system
4) World/sub-sector design
5) Spaceship design
6) Two size books
Bad aspects (though points 4 and 5 are not necessarily bad):
1) Low quality paper of books
2) Pocket size rulebook is very small
3) Combat is a little flat
4) Trade is very detailed
5) Very, very fragile characters
6) Equipment cannot live up to all the potential choices, particularly vehicles
Great review. I am just now getting into this game, having picked up the core rulebook, the Central Supply Catalog, the GM screen, 1,001 Characters.

Good review. I've been playing Trav since 1983. It is, hands down, the best sci-fi rpg I've ever played or run as a GM. Its few deficiencies are more than made up for by the sheer scope and possibilities. Trav universes are literally whatever you make them, and there is a vast array of online support for it.
On combat, it is lethal, and for good reason - too many people simply want to hacknslash. Trav is about doing something more than that, so the rules reflect real life and real consequences.

It certainly deserves alot more praise than it already has, among other greats like D&D and Shadowrun.

Great review here. I've been gaming for 23 years but somehow I've never played this game. I've heard about it before but you do a good job describing it to someone that's never played, well done.

This is a great game, Played it a few times and still come back to it frequently with my gaming groups. Also much like classic traveller and megatraveller
