@SnotRockets55 Because unfortunately thats all we see, rappers with shitty garage tattoos. We want to all get tattooed by the neighborhood artist instead of paying top dollar for something that looks good. Most of my brotha's are just un-educated on what makes a good tattoo... Its sad. Im black and have one sleeve of japanese tattoos. Ive never seen another black person with japanese work, its sad we dont open our eyes to more than whats on BET..

Im black and Im not stupid enough to expect to put thin layers of color over my dark skin and expect them to show (cleanly)!Black people must stick to black n grey for LONG LASTING tattoos (and only use red, purple and green/blues on dark skin, no yellows!). Color is good for 5 years then it fades crazy! Im sorry to say but me and my boy Donny have the darkest ink out of any black people we've seen tattooed. Its all about paying for a good tattoo and caring for it afterwards.

@Chilli0912 Where did you go for your tattoo? Sounds like the shop (or garage) you went to didnt know what they were doing. Im black and have a full japanese 3/4 sleeve. I have black tiger striping on my forearm and people are always amazed how black it is (im a medium-dark skinned brotha). Its all about how good your artist is (not all artists are trained on black skin) and how good you take care of it after. If you swim or sit out in the sun, kiss your tattoo goodbye.

I'm dark skinned . When I had my tattoo done some 20 years ago they disappeared in 6 weeks. I hope this is a break through.

@SnotRockets55 From personal experience: some tatto artists detract you from getting a color tatto from the satart claiming the colors wont show on your skin.
