When i blended, my sauce was way loads than you have in the video. it looked like soup and filled most my pot :S , but i added the rice in the end and some water. it overflooded 1 pot so i've had too half the mixture into 2 pots. Just waiting for the results. Im really worried i did it wrong & it don't taste how it is suppose to taste. :S , wish me luck.

When I make it I usually guage how much water I think and need then after I put the rice. Sometimes I mess up the measurement and it messes up my jollof rice. The amount of water you put in can make or break you. Now I am going to do it the way you add it. It is better that way to get the right amount. Love your tutorial.

I love Jollof Rice! :)

I thought coconut milk was always used for jollof rice?

@elmo72991, yes, parboiled rice (Uncle Ben's) is the best for making Jollof rice. If you use a more starchier rice I would consider washing it toughly to get the starch out.

@ChiChiTV Hello. I would like to know if I can use brown or basmati rice, instead of jasmin rice for this recipe. I apologize if the question if it offends you. I am in noway trying to change the recipe. During my pregnancy my husband cooked jasmin rice and the smell made me sick. Every time my husband cooks with jasmin rice it still makes me sick. I used to love the smell of jasmin rice. After I had my baby my sense of taste and smell has changed. Thank you for sharing.
i always end up with sticky rice... could you please tell me how to fix this? thanks :)

@elmo72991 Hi There. Thank you for your inpute. You make an interesting and important point here. Considering there are many types of rice which require slightly different cooking times or methods, the easy cook par-boiled rice will give you the best results for jollof rice. It's not as starchy and absorbs moisture or sauces without being so sticky. Wash it in lots of water before adding it to your sauce. Good luck.
