This is a little female ball python I rescued today. I just wanted to give you guys a look at her before I try to get her settled in. She is malnourished and very tiny weighing only 234 grams. She was born in May of 2008 and was only fed a small mouse every 3 weeks or so...on and off, while her owner was stationed away with our armed forces. She was kept in deplorable conditions - her enclosure filled with poop and sheds and filthy water. There was no heat source except an overhead bulb. There were other reptiles that suffered under this person's care that didn't make it. I am hoping I can restore her health and give her a happy forever home.

  • That's a beautiful ball python. Seems like she has a nice clean belly. Has potential there. Hope she gets back to her normal weight and has proper substrate (not the one in the video I hope) and scheduled meals. Good luck and keep us posted!

  • Thank you. the enclosure and substrate you see here is the enclosure I brought her home in. It's what she was kept in with the previous owner and it was very yucky!! She is settled in now in a proper enclosure with good heat, substrate and humdity. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice looking ball. Always breaks my heart when animals are neglected. I know it has a good home now. You'll bring it back to health in no time. Look forward to more videos on s/he. Good rescue Susan.

  • Thank you Greg. She is doing much better now just a week later! I think she will make it. =D

  • Nice pickup. I to just took in two new ones. I got them from the local pet shop. Not sure I would call it a rescue, but they were not taken care of very well at the shop. So thought Id get them. Ill have a quick slide show up in a bit of them. 5*

  • Thank you Shannon! Doesn't it just bug the heck out of you when you see them not being cared for properly?

  • Its really sad the way people treat their animals...I dont know how they do it. I feel like a terrible person when I cant feed my BP every two weeks (4.5 year old on med rats). He actually just quit his 9 month no-eating fit which really worried me. People like you should be around a LOT more!

  • You are great :)
