Hornchurch Airfield Rocket Team in the 90s. See a rocket chuff off the pad, land in water, underpowered flights and what happens, how trees get in the way, an 8 stager that was too tail heavy, a Phoenix missile blowing up on the pad, and scale models of Anderson machines from Thunderbirds and Capt Scarlet. Learn, laugh or be entertained. Music from www.akmmusic.co.uk MCPS 9565. www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk

  • anyone got tips on how to measure how high the rocket would got? im doin this for a project

  • @GoDsBLade1014 Search the net for some height calculation software for rockets. I used to use Alticalc but there may be a newer or better version nowadays.

Another way is to fit an on-board alitmeter for the bigger rockets. Again search the net for details.

  • @Calvertfilm did the water damage your rocket????

  • @JDrockerDUDE No. When it dried it was ok.

  • ive noticed most of these rocket tend to fall over a bit at take off and its blamed on being under powered, the case is it needs a gyrow a small motor slide it down into the tube and run it on a small batter the motor needs to be close to the nise cone for a good effect, this will hold the rocket vertical till it gains speed, just a simple elecric motor will work,

  • Most of these are Estes kits. So they fly as Estes intended. Also a gyro would add significant weight and hamper performance on the smaller rockets. It seems easier just to put a bigger motor in. As you say weight at the front, wings at the back - CP to rear CG to front, will help make these little rockets work.
