This is a prototype of an iPhone application I've been working on that plots DC crime data provided by the DC government. Using MapKit and the iPhone 3.0 SDK, it's meant to be a proof of concept for some basic iPhone mapping.
I'm working on a few projects that will build off this basic functionality: one is creating an iPhone application that interfaces with the Omeka (omeka.org) web publishing system for digital archives and online exhibits that I work on at George Mason University, and the other relates to mapping historical places with my HistoryPlot project (twitter.com/historyplot).
If you have any questions, leave a comment or drop me a line on twitter. My handle is @digitalhumanist
I'm trying to plot points from an XML file that is constantly updated. You said you got your points from an rss feed. Any pointers on how I could pull the data from my XML file and get it into the mapkit? Shoot me an email at mmaat@ualbertaDOTca (replace te DOT with . obviously, trying to keep the spam bots away)
