@McLarenMercedes That's a fairly typical mclaren fanboy comment. I would never undermine Lewis that way. The top six or so drivers on the grid are close to the best field the sport has seen for some time, I just feel that Alonso would come out on top, although Hamilton could take that title just as easily.

Well, he had an equal car to Hamilton (a rookie in F1) in 2007, and look how that ended. It was the Senna/Prost situation all over again. Though Prost had style.
Alonso is a modern day Nelson Piquet. Winning races, through cruising and collecting them as the opposition runs into mechanical trouble.
If all had equal cars, I'd say he'd finish 4'th at best. When it comes to raw pace he was never on top. When it comes to racecraft he is in no way comparable with the all time greats.

To even call Alonso a shit driver probably proves you shouldn't be giving your opinion. If every driver were given an equal car, my money would be on him.
