  • How is this throw that defends against a punch any different from jujitsu or judo? Its not really unique to hapkido.

  • @MaharlikaAWA You're correct. There are several techniques that are used in different Martial Arts.

  • can't help but wonder how half these demonstrations would go if the guys fought back . . .

  • @karl2k8brown If you're really wondering, check out the MMA event Quake in the Cage 7 July 29. Vince and his partners put the Quake in the Cage events together and he has several of his fighters competing. Obviously demo's are put together so that viewers can clearly see the technique being utilized without confusion.

Indeed. Hapkido itself is a very ecletic hybrid style, derived from Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jujitsu (the prior form of Aikido), Taekkyeon and Taekwondo. Those who cry about 'copying styles', are very ignorant to the fact that every martial art is originated from ancient boxing, wrestling, Pankration (the first form of MMA) and Kung Fu.

  • I seen them practicing gently on each other i can now fight off any mugger rapist or fat guy who come my way!!!!!

  • @MaharlikaAWA im sure many martial arts adapt and take moves from others. Its not like styles are unchanged

  • @karl2k8brown You still need to be shown how to do the technique, simply. Then, when you're so used to it, and you don't need to think, then it becomes useable.

  • 0:27 I was like wow kids got some moves!

  • lol I guess this works if you have a chubby asian guy throwing a right cross at about 0.5 mph and just standing there afterwards.. lol

  • @unionofonion HA YOU TOTALLY BELEIVED ME YOU DOUCHE!

  • @ChingasosMMAVideos Except an MMA fight isnt a very accurate way to show how these work in real life, alot of variables get chopped out, mainly obsticals, certian strikes for obvious reasons, no weapons, only 1v1 and getting slammed on a Mat is not as bad as getting slammed on a hard surface.
