As usual the local Aspens have turned entirely yellow for a few days before the wind takes them at the end of October.
Related to poplars, they grow happily as natives here in North Yorkshire, although they are often associated with conifers of northern latitudes.
Mainly propagating from suckers, they tend to form dense stands of many trunks as a result. They rarely reach more than 40 feet or so.
