I think they pressured Violet-ann to get married. She really liked her job and car and independence but was prob considered old at 22.

Violet Ann's wedding was the nicest most "normal" wedding. Pretty dress that women here in the US might wear, not overdone bridal party and nice decor, like simple touches of pink. She looked beautiful and I hope she and her husband can find happiness together.

@dolcefantasia3 it bothers me too because from what i've seen, women lead a very oppressed life in traveling communities. but it looks like they enjoy their life. i don't know, maybe i'm wrong. i'm sure there are girls who rebel against this form. but i think her mother was joking, though! she seemed very lighthearted when she said that...
