type C, 2-stroke (hit miss & throttler)

The first Rmc type C, 2 stroke engine. (serial #1) It's a 3 port with closed crankcase & a light weight (fast acting) piston valve by-pass. (another video of this engine shows it running not as well with a ball valve piston) The engine has dual exhausts, is a hemi & runs with the crudest super charger you'll find. It can run either as a hit & miss or a throttler engine by tightening a screw that locks a governor in the flywheel. There's no throttle on the carb & the speed is controlled by the ignition timer lever. Flames back fire randomly out the exhausts because the timing (ignition) is set late to make it run slow. The top speed is limited by the 1913 era Ford Model T "buzz" ignition coil.

At 0.42 when you put the allen key into the flywheel, are you just tightening a grub screw that holds it onto the shaft or is it something todo with starting?

hi, that screw in the flywheel controls the governor spring. The further in it is, the faster the engine runs. All the way in & it runs as a throttler.

Ok thanks, I wish my wolseley engine would run like that, i had it out today and after 25 seconds it dies.
