The most respectful thing that Pope Benedict XVI could do for the many, many victims is to stand down from being the Pope, only when he has done this can he really show the people his true remorse for the wrong that has been done and his strong yearn for forgiveness. Once he has resigned from being the Pope, maybe in time the people can forgive him for turning his back on this sustained atrocity.
