i think we can all agree that these all of these guitars sound great
-
Julia is such a great song

So i have to go against the stream of OM lovers and say ... D-18 sounds warm and exciting!
The cosmetic look of the OM is nicer though ...

I would say 80 percent of the time is pretty damn consistent. Give or take a grand or so in the cost of a guitar. Personally I would have thought 80 percent in most tests would be at least satisfactory. Yes, only a douchebag primarily considers a guitar by it's price, but they will generally be correct in doing so, like most things in this world.
I guess we shall have to agree to disagree though.

I'm not going to debate you on the price and quality of guitars...anyone who would write a comment like your first one isn't worth debating. People like you who write mean spirited, unhelpful comments should not be allowed to comment. For what it is worth, I have quite a few Martins, and from experience I can tell you that price is NOT a consistent factor in the quality of the sound of a guitar.

The cheaper Martins are very overpriced I find.

It's built with far better wood and too a far higher standard. By saying, I have to go with the OM-42, you make it sound as if it is a tough decision. Perhaps comparing an OMJM with a Clapton signature or a D-42 with a Taylor 914ce would make for a much fairer comparison, but through this video we can clearly see that (in this case) the price clearly accounts for a higher quality.
Regardless of what you say, it is extremely find a 600 dollar guitar better than one that's 2 grand.

You sound like the kind of person that everyone would just love to sit around with and discuss guitars. Thanks for the enlightining and insightful comment. You make this world a better place.
I'd have to go with the OM-42. Although they all sound great, the 42 has such a a warm sound and such rich overtones.

The song is Julia, a Lennon song from the White Album. (Beatles in case you didn't know.)
